Case Study - Change Management

Type of Organisation: Mail Centre

Project Requirements:
Outgoing Development was asked to assist with the management of the Change Process when two centres merged. Employees from these centres needed to be integrated into one new Centre. It is important to note however that the two older centres had distinctly different work cultures.

Intervention:
An effective Change Management Strategy was developed to begin the process of integration prior to the closing of the two older mail centres. This involved steps such as visits to the new site. Employees also had the opportunity provide input into the new mail centre design. The Change Management process also involved the development of a comprehensive Cultural Integration and Team Development program that had input from employees in each of the mail centres. All 400 staff participated in the process that was developed.

Following this program, any new employees, through their induction and training also attended a two-day Cultural Awareness and Team Development program with us. This was to ensure that the new culture was communicated, believed in, and maintained.
