Outgoing Development Australia is engaged to develop and to deliver a leadership development program for a large Energy company within Australia. The aim of the project is to develop the leadership capability within the company. This program has now seen more than 150 participants engage in the program and produce significant change for individuals. What is most exciting to witness is that small internal changes for individuals that produce external changes in behaviour often makes significant difference for the company and those being led.
Some of the elements of the success of this program include the engagement of the participant's immediate superior in the setting of learning goals and supporting the process. Also facilitating the 4-day program over a number of months and participants working on application of the new skills during the review period.
Finally as a process of learning this program has concrete experiences that have demonstrated the subject matter in a way which opens the participants to want to learn how to be more effective and therefore provide the motivation for the participants to apply their learning to their workplace.
